So it's official. During the Dragon Ball FighterZ World Tour Finals, Bandai Namco revealed that a new Dragon Ball game in the RPG action genre is going to be released.
To prove that their loud statement is legit, Namco demonstrated a short teaser of the upcoming RPG. It is quite brief and no details of the plot/game mechanics/novelties etc. are shown. But instead, we can clearly see, that the game will return to the roots of Dragon Ball Z and perhaps the whole story might be revisited.
One of the iconic moments highlighted in the teaser is Goku's debut transformation in Super Saiyan, when the memorable battle with Frieza took place. Also, we can observe some very well-known locations: Kame House and Capsule Corp. Goku walks by them in the teaser.
As the invisible voice tells us: "True warriors are in a never-ending search for the ultimate fight," the narrator says. "This is the story of the mysterious Dragon Balls. A story about determination, despair, and hope. This is the story of Goku, the one they call Kakarot."
However, no title, even a working one, or clear deadline have been announced. It is speculated the game may see the light later in 2019 and will be distributed via Steam. Platforms supported include Xbox One, PS4, and PC. the studio responsible for the highly anticipated game is CyberConnect 2 - the same team, who developed Storm Trilogy, based on Naruto anime series.
It looks like we can only sit, wait and hope. It's just too many Dragon Ball fans are pretty impatient to learn more about the upcoming game. And if you happen to be one of them, quench at least a tiny bit of your curiosity by watching Namco's trailer. Here instead of countless words.
